Visitors do not know your site. They do not know which gate is the truck entry, where the forklifts cross, or that the bay beside the roller door has to stay clear for deliveries. They take the first path that looks right, and on a working site that is often the wrong one.
Verge makes the bollards, boom gates, and portable barriers that let you set aside visitor bays, mark out where guests can and cannot go, and keep unfamiliar drivers away from operational traffic. Everything is manufactured at our Glendenning facility in western Sydney.
Your staff have learned the site. They know the blind corner, the gate that swings out, and the aisle where the forklift comes through. A visitor arriving for a 9am meeting has none of that, and they are usually running late.
Reserved bays are the other half of the problem. A bay marked with paint gets parked in. When the visitor space, the accessible bay, or the loading zone is taken by someone who ignored the sign, the person who needed it parks somewhere they should not, and that is where incidents start.
There is a duty of care question too. Visitors and contractors on your site are covered by the same WHS obligations as your employees. A car park that funnels a visiting rep past a live forklift crossing is a control failure, and it is the sort of thing an inspector picks up straight away.
Surface mount bollards such as the EV330 and U-bollards such as the EV336 physically hold a bay rather than asking a driver to respect a sign. They also mark the boundary of the shared area beside an accessible bay so it does not get parked across.
A visitor needs to be stopped and directed before they drive further onto the site. V-Boom access control booms hold vehicles at a check-in point, and bollards protect the intercom, gate motor, and anyone standing at the window.
Once a visitor is out of the vehicle they are a pedestrian in a traffic area, often carrying something and looking at their phone. ECO-Rail and Guard-PRO define a protected route from the visitor bays to the front door, so there is an obvious path to follow.
Visitor parking is often squeezed in next to a loading dock, a yard gate, or a hardstand. HD Barriers and bollards create a hard boundary between the visitor bays and the working part of the site, so a wrong turn on foot does not put someone in front of a truck.
Delivery drivers and trades need somewhere to wait that is out of the traffic path. A defined driver safe zone, set out with barriers and gates, gives them a place to stand while the vehicle is unloaded.
Conferences, inductions, open days, and audit visits all create short bursts of unfamiliar traffic. Expandable barriers, safety cones, and rubber wheel stops such as the JV730 let you reserve and reconfigure bays for a day without touching the permanent layout.
After consolidating multiple smaller warehouses, oOh! media needed their new Noble Park hub equipped to manage a high volume of light commercial vans and heavy trucks alongside pedestrians accessing amenities. Externally, 80 metres of Guard-PRO Double Rail was installed around the facility perimeter to create a clearly protected walkway for truck drivers and staff, separated from live traffic lanes. Nine Impact Pedestrian Gates provided controlled access across vehicle pathways. Internally, 210 metres of HDP Barrier segregated traffic from work areas throughout the warehouse.
Alstom expanded their Australian operations with a new 7,500 sqm facility dedicated to storage and distribution of spare parts. As a global company with over 60,000 personnel and high standards for employee safety, Alstom required a complete safety barrier package prior to their go-live date. Verge consulted on the layout, manufactured and installed a full suite of standard and custom solutions within a short timeframe, including Driver Safety Zone Kits for visiting delivery drivers, Dock-PRO gates, Eco-Rail handrails, V-Gates and column protectors.
Rivalea operates a large multi-building facility including an administration building, abattoir, meat processing facility and maintenance buildings, all connected by busy access roadways. With over 300 staff, the risk of pedestrian-vehicle collision increased significantly at meal breaks and shift changes. Verge installed designated walkways protected by physical barriers across the site, with gates at all vehicle thoroughfare intersections and impact-resistant HD Barriers in high-forklift zones. Both pedestrians and drivers now operate with predictable, defined paths and no unexpected crossings.
Every Verge product is manufactured at our Glendenning facility in western Sydney. That means shorter lead times, local technical support, and products built for Australian conditions and compliance requirements.
Some visitor bays need a bollard set in concrete. Others need something you can move for a conference on Thursday and put away on Friday. We supply both, so you are not locking in a layout that does not suit how the site actually runs.
Visitor parking sits where first impressions are formed. Products can be powder-coated to match the building, so access control at the front of house does not look like industrial equipment dropped into a customer car park.
Local manufacturing means we can respond quickly when a gap needs closing, without waiting on an international supply chain.
Every engineering workshop has a different layout, machinery setup, and material flow. Whether you need to guard machinery, separate material handling routes, or protect welding bays, VEvery site handles visitors differently. Whether you need to hold a handful of reserved bays, control access at the front gate, or create a safe walking route from the car park to reception, we can help you work out what goes where.
